Shortcut: To get to Xarabydun, take the Monument Sands settlement portal from Al-Arqas (33.6S, 132.E). It will drop you at 37.9S, 16.0E. From there it's a short run to the Consortium.

The crucible can be purchased from Zarri ibn Khaybi in Xarabaydun at 41.9S, 16.2E.

The basic steps to make the gems are outlined below:

1. Concentrated Aqua Incanta + Pyreal Mote = (5) Aqua Vitae

2. Crucible + Potion = Crucible with Potion
You add the potion to the crucible.

3. Crucible with Potion + Herb = Potion and Herb Crucible
You add the [herb] to the mixture, successfully predicting the correct timing.

4. Aqua Vitae + Potion and Herb Crucible = Treated Potion and Herb Crucible
You add the aqua vitae to the mix, the formula bubbles and appears ready for application to a crushed powder.

5. Treated Potion and Herb Crucible + Powdered Gem = Spell Gem
The powder congeals into a gem-like substance. The process is a success!

Note: To make more Aqua Vitae at a time, you can use combined pyreal.

Pyreal Sliver = 10 Aqua Vitae
Pyreal Nugget = 25-30 Aqua Vitae
Pyreal Bar = 50-55 Aqua Vitae
High Quality Ingot = 125 Aqua Vitae

The herb used determines the level of the spell you will produce:

Level III gems - Eyebright
Level IV gems - Henbane
Level V gems - Amaranth
Level VI gems - Frankincense

The Potions & Powders determine the spell type:

Stibnite + Onyx = Armor
Quicksilver + Hematite = Piercing
Verdigris + Turquoise = Bludgeoning
Cadmia + Moonstone = Blade
Brimstone + Malachite = Acid
Colcothar + Quartz = Cold
Turpeth + Carnelian = Fire
Cobalt + Agate = Lightning
Vitriol + Bloodstone = Regeneration
Cinnabar + Amber = Rejuvenation
Gypsum + Lapis Lazuli = Mana
Renewal

If you fail the skill check, your mixture will be destroyed!

You fail to time the cibation correctly and fail the process.

You fail to surmise the correct time for cibation and ruin the mixture.

This simply crafted crucible is capable of holding acids, and withstanding intense heat. It is necessary for mixing several materials at once.
